Club Notes Wednesday 23rd May 2012

May 23, 2012

Éire Óg0-06
St
Clarets 4-15

Despite this score line this game wasn’t as one sided as the score suggests. The lads got off to a great start and were 2 points up after 5 mins. But St Clarets found their rhythm and had us pegged back defending our own half for most of the rest of the first half. We missed a couple of chances of easy points and had two goal chances saved by a lucky keeper one at point blank range and one just dipping under the crossbar that he tipped over for a point.
They got a couple of goals in the first half that tipped the balance in their favour but nevertheless the lads kept their heads. Paddy our keeper made a few great saves and it could have been more but take away a couple of easy ones for them and a bit of luck with ours and 2.06 to 2.15 wouldn’t have been far more respectable. No favours from the Ref but after he was hit point blank in the face by one of St Claret from about 10 yards you’d have thought he’d have given us the benefit of doubt on a couple of occasions.

Training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm in FinsburyPark.

New players welcome.
