Junior Championship 2012 – Round 3

Last Saturday we played the in third round of the Championship versus Saint Anthony’s from Reading.
We where missing five regular starting players but we still had 20 players to choose from. We started slow in this game and were punished with Anthony’s taken there scoring chances well. We then conceded a scrappy penalty just before half-time, which was scored and gap widened.
We gathered our thoughts at half time and changed our plan of attached. This resulted in a more positive second half and we had several chances to close the gap. We played well in the second half but where out played by a strong St Anthony’s.
One win and two defeats in the Championship mean we do not progress to the semi-final. Good luck to the teams still involved.
Training will be reduced to once per week. Paul Maher will be in touch with the details and will send out a Teamer. There will be several challenge games and a couple of league games before the season ends.
