Club Notes 5th May 2015

May 5, 2015

Last Saturday we took on St Clarets in the first preliminary round of the Championship in Downhills Park. We were looking to bounce back after the previous weeks defeat to Clarets in the semi-final of the McArdle cup.

We started the better of the two sides and took an early five point lead. This was to be reduced just before half time when our goalkeeper for the day Naul Mullen was well beaten. We held a two pint lead at half time. Some good play in the second half seen Damian Shannon score a nice goal. St Clarets pushed on in the last ten minutes and reduced the lead to two points again. We defended well against the Clarets pressure and held on for the win.

The final score was Eire Og 1-9 to 2-4 St Clarets.
