Training & Games
We played St Clarets in round three of the league on Saturday. We where quick off the mark and managed to build up a decent lead by half time. St Clarets came out fithgting in the second half and amanged to reduce our lead, a man of the match perforamce from debuatant Joe Mac Mahon who scored 2-6 ensured we went on to win the game.
Fulltime score 3-14 to 1-12. All the best to St Clarets for the rest of the season.
Training this week is on Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30pm. We train in Downhill’s Park, N17 6AP. We are a friendly, and social club and welcome players of all abilities who wish to play football. For more information please contact John Tierney on 07833 016014 or [email protected]

If you could take a sportsman from another sport and turn him into a footballer, who would you take?
David Rudisha – 6’3″ and can run very fast. He would probably be the ultimate box to box midfielder.Who was your toughest under-age opponent in back home?
There were quite a few. The one that stands out was a guy from Grenagh called John Russell. I didn’t come up against that often but when I did it was always a tough day at the office.Who was your sporting idol growing up?
Too many to mention. Barry McGuigan’s world title was amazing, I can vaguely remember being allowed stay up late to watch the Pedroza fight. Outside of boxing he seems like a pretty outstanding individual.Do you possess any sentimental GAA items?
A training top that Larry Tompkins gave to me after the Cork football team trained in Macroom in ’89 or ’90. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen it in a while so maybe I no longer have it in my possessionWho is greatest ever sportsman in your opinion?

Joe Schmidt seems to be a pretty inspirational coach. Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots also seems like a guy who knows how to get results.What’s the best sports book that you’ve ever read?
