Training & Games

We played Moindearg last Wednesday in the second round of the league. To say we got off to a slow start would be an understatement. Moindearg started well and took their chances to build up a comprehensive 1-10 to 1-0 lead at half time. The only positive to take from the first half was Johnny Costello getting on the score sheet.

Some strong words were spoken at half time which the lads took on aboard. The second half got off underway with a slight breeze in our favour. Some good passing and movement seen us claw Moindearg’s leads back to three points with five minutes to go we pushed forward in search of a goal. Moindearg hit us on the counter attack and picked up another two points.

Fulltime score 1-12 to 2-05. All the best to Moindearg for the rest of the season.

New Horizon Youth Centre – A Night of Comedy

New Horizon Youth Centre’s 3rd Comedy Benefit Evening will be our best yet!  As well as some of our favourite regular comedians led by the inimitable Ed Byrne (previous years’ big names include:  Rory Bremner, Lee Mack, Jimmy Carr and Dara O’Briain)  there will be some exciting new acts and our wonderful Chair, Jon Snow, leads our auction for items money can’t buy!  All proceeds will go to New Horizon’s support of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable young people coming into London in search of a better life, many of them have an offending history or are fleeing domestic abuse – all have reached a rock bottom in their young lives and are experiencing poverty.  They are either street homeless or are living in woefully inadequate accommodation – our dedicated team of staff and volunteers works with up to 2,500 of these young people every year.
