Éire Óg got off to winning ways with in the Division 3 League with an impressive 1-12 to 1-07 victory over St. Kiernan’s Juniors.
Despite playing into a first half wind, a Jason Boals goal and a couple of points from John Whyte and John Coyle gave Éire Óg a 1-6 to 0-3 HT lead.
The 2nd half was a very physical game where Joe McMahon kicked 4 out of our 6 points, all from play. Stephen O’Neill came off the bench and also scored a point. St Kiernans did kick some good points in the second half and a very late goal led left things a little nervy, however Éire Óg were composed throughout to run-out deserving winners
Best for Éire Óg were the returning John Whyte & Stephen O’Keefe.
