Greenways Law

Greenways Law is a boutique law firm based in London and Cornwall.

Greenways Law was established in Cornwall during the early 1920s and has been at the heart of the community ever since. We recently were very pleased to announce the merger of our firm with the London based property and commercial solicitors Verto Group Legal.

We offer a full range of legal services to individuals and companies alike from commercial and residential conveyancing to dispute resolution, from employment law to probate, wills and trusts.
We are, however, a little different to other law firms. We provide the personal touch with all our services and always are transparent about our fees, be it on fixed fee retainer or a pay as you go service or an hourly rate, our clients know what to expect before fees are incurred. This means you can factor your legal costs in from day one.
Our diverse team is drawn from a wide range of backgrounds and our solicitors are qualified both in the UK and internationally. With Greenways Law you’ll enjoy a bespoke service without the associated price tag.

History of Organisation

Greenways, in its present form, is an amalgamation of three of the oldest established practices in Newquay with the recent inclusion of a London office through the merger with a property and commercial law firm Verto Group Legal.
Operating in Newquay since the early 1920s
The original organisation was known as Greenway Graham Wright and Company and practised from the Manor Office, Chapel Hill, Newquay from about the late 1920s, having started out originally as a branch office of Graham and Graham of St. Austell.
In the early 1930s Dr. Wright left the practice to become a Judge in Trinidad and the firm then became known as Greenways Graham Couch and Company. It was separated off as an independent practise in about 1948, as Greenways Couch and Company.
In 1976 Greenway Couch and Company took over the old established firm of Carpmael and Evans who had been established since about the 1930s and were based over at 1 Gover Lane, Newquay. The combined firm then moved premises to its present location at 19 St. Michael’s Road and practised under the name of Greenway, Couch Carpmael and Evans. The name was subsequently shortened to Greenways.
Merger with Messrs. Whitford and Sons of St Columb Established 1790
Further development occurred in 1987 when Greenways acquired the practice of Messrs. Whitford and Sons who operated from the Victoria Parade Buildings in Newquay and from Trennick House, Kenwyn Street, Truro. There are few details available regarding the history of Whitfords except it is known that they were a well established organisation and had originally practised from St. Columb from about 1790.
In 1990 we closed the Truro branch office and consolidated the firms operations in Newquay at 19 St. Michael’s Road, where the firm continues to practise up to the present time.
In 2007 we absorbed Jenners Conveyancing into the practice.
